With the nights drawing in and the colder weather upon us, it gets even harder to think about your weight and fitness – all we want to do is sit on the sofa at the end of a busy day and eat chocolate!
But there’s no need to despair…
Despite most of us thinking that losing weight and getting fitter is all about stringent diets and sweaty visits to the gym – it’s not! In fact, only people with really strong will power and lots of time on their hands can approach the weight loss challenge like this – and, let’s face it, most of us have neither!
The only reliable way to LONG TERM weight loss and fitness is by changing your lifestyle – a little bit at a time. And “changing your lifestyle” does NOT mean becoming a yoga fanatic on an Asian beach (however good that may sound!).
All it means is that you have to tweak the way you approach your everyday habits and routines. Change a little thing here and a little thing there and, over time, you will have chucked out all the “bad” habits and replaced them with “good” ones.
The key to the success of this approach is to achieve a small objective every day – and if you don’t achieve it because you don’t have the time, or you forget, it’s not the end of the world – you just try and achieve it the following day – and so on!
So what are these “little tweaks”?
It’s all about utilising your time efficiently, spending small amounts of time (when you can) carrying out certain objectives, changing the way you eat and prepare meals, shopping wisely and using your mind to really help you achieve your goals, rather than constantly resisting them.
